Love is not rare. Unconditional love is.

     With heavy feet, he approached his hands to touch her fragile fingers. She was in a half sleep. Sleeping like a child, hugging the cushion​, pushing half of the blanket by legs, removing remaining half from the face. It was altogether an innocent act of her that was putting pleasant smile on his face. He knew if he touched her hands she would wake up. So, he gently pulled out the blanket so that she could breathe comfortably in doing so she lost her sleep. Her subconscious mind was telling her that someone had touched her. As she had slept for longer time it was going difficult for her to open her eyes and look clearly. Suddenly she felt like someone had slept beside her, she became unconscious. Looking at her unconsciousness, he moved his hands upward down from her forehead to nose and from nose to her lips. She sensed that soothing touch very well which alleviated her unconsciousness, even in her half sleep that touch put mischievous smile on her face.

         When she opened her eyes, she was totally surprised by what she had seen. His boyfriend was sleeping right in front of her, on the same bed. The only thing she could see after such a long sleep was his smiling face and the ocean of water in his eyes.

She said, " you are sleeping right next to the most beautiful girl in the world and look at you... You are crying!!!!! "

He replied sarcastically by wiping his tears " I have slept with many girls but never got a feeling like this."

She patted his shoulder and laughed.

After few seconds of laughter, she stopped laughing.

           Now both were silent, looking each other in eyes of each other. Their eyes were half filled with water and half filled with an intense urge not to lose each other. The silence was engrossing in that dark, solitary room of the hospital. The only sound they could hear was the sound of their heartbeats, even the beep noise from the ventilator was fading in front of their heartbeats. Their heartbeats were beating simultaneously, one beat after another, continuously...​ dhak dhak!!! Dhak dhak!!! Dhak dhak!!! Like the beats of KAL HO NA HO. 

She summed up the courage and asked a question to him, " You have an entire life in front of you, why have you come here to the girl who is going to die soon?"

With the tears in eyes he replied,

Love is not rare. Unconditional love is!!!  

I am here because I love you unconditionally and I will keep loving you the same till my last breath. We are soulmates. Even if you we die tomorrow, our souls will not separate us from each other. You are the best thing that has happened​ to me and the last thing too. "

After hearing those words, she burst out in tears. Seeing her cry, he also started crying. They both were crying in that lonely room wiping each other's tears and holding each other’s hands.

           He asked her how much time do you have she said very less. He threw hands around her and hugged her tightly. She started feeling pain in her body. She realized time had come. She whispered something in his ears. Her last wish. She wanted to die in his arms listening to her favorite song " I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU, I WANNA DIE LYING IN YOUR ARMS!!!!"

            He could not resist himself so he hugged her more tightly with tears in his eyes and started singing " I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU, I WANNA DIE LYING IN YOUR ARMS!!"

And the beep of ventilator stopped.
